You've got to hand it to Mary Ann Clark.

The Vancouver marketing maven is taking Olympic mittens and turning them into thousands of hot lunches for inner-city kids.

"There are so many negative things being said about the Olympics, I thought maybe somebody should take a positive stand here," Clark said Wednesday.

"I thought maybe someone should say, 'Let's get the little tiny guys really involved. Let's give them a reason to watch the Olympics and maybe they'll get some real role models.' "

Clark launched Mitts for Kids in a bid to raise elementary-school children's 2010 awareness, as well as raise money for a good cause.

Her goal is to put a pair of the $10, red Olympic mittens on all 27,000 kindergarten and elementary schoolkids in the Vancouver School District.
